John Iredale, President
With almost thirty years in the construction industry, John takes an active role in each project. He organizes job priorities better than anyone else, removing chaos and unnecessary complexities from the client’s project. His philosophy is to do it right the first time, every time, and to partner with high-performing subcontractors who support his vision.
John’s intuitive appreciation for the architect’s design intent is coupled with a healthy respect for the client’s budget. This enhances his unique ability to understand needs and expectations, and to deliver both. Under his leadership, the Karsten teams stay focused on quality workmanship, holding costs as close to the budget as possible, and meeting the projected schedule.
John holds a B.A. degree from the University of Delaware, a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License and a City of Boston “A” License. Outside of work, he spends time with his family, is active in the community and sits on various boards.
Charles Acton, V.P. of Development
Charlie is responsible for all day-to-day operations and project schedules. Charlie’s primary focus is development and through his guidance, The Karsten Company completed the state’s first 40R Smart Growth Zoning Project in Norwood, MA. His attention to detail keeps field staff utilized to their maximum potential. With a solid background in project management, he is familiar with the complexities of projects of all sizes and takes a straightforward approach to resolving challenges as they arise. His philosophy to do it right the first time parallels John’s approach and provides a solid foundation for the company. Charlie holds a B.A. in Economics and Government from Cornell University.
Paula Duran, V.P. of Operations
Paula Duran has been with The Karsten Company for over 15 years and is in charge of day to day administrative activities. All administrative responsibilities that make the engine of The Karsten Company run fall under her responsibility. Paula holds an Associate Degree in Business from Aquinas College in Milton.
